This site is designed as a resource for families seeking non-medical care before, during and after childbirth. Natalie is a professional birth and postpartum doula. She is also a massage therapist.
Her services encompass emotional, physical, and educational support. As a healing artist, her intentions are to cultivate a sense of health, well-being, trust and safety within growing families via quality person-centered care. Her number one goal is to support your goals, values and preferences related to childbirth.
It's probably crossed your mind, what does doula mean? The word doula originates from Greece and translates into the meaning, "a woman who serves".
The modern definition of a doula, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is "a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a mother before, during, and just after childbirth."
"Research shows that childbirth does go more smoothly with a doula: labor is 25 percent shorter, the need for epidural pain relief is 60 percent less and the Caesarean section rate is reduced by half."
